Volière is a Belgian slamming deathgrind band from Antwerp, formed in 2017. Blending crushing slam riffs, brutal death metal, grind and an unhealthy obsession with birds, the band has carved out its own corner of the underground with what they jokingly call “Bird Slam.”
Behind the feathers and absurd song titles lies an unapologetically heavy band: downtuned guitars, massive slams, blastbeats and guttural vocals, delivered with the energy of a band that takes its music seriously — but never itself. Their bird-themed universe runs through everything they do, from songs and artwork to their notorious live appearances in bird costumes. After Numero Kalk’uno (2019) and the Avian Influenza EP (2021), Volière returned in 2024 with Numero Fazan’Dos, expanding their particular blend of slamming deathgrind, goregrind and absurdist humour. Live, the band turns that combination into an energetic and chaotic experience where brutal riffs, feathers and crowd interaction go hand in hand. Brutal. Groovy. Stupidly heavy. Full of birds. |
